GoodDay co-founder & CEO, Kyle Hency sat down with Jon-Mark Craddock, CEO of growing accessories brand, La Matera.
After working with some of the most disruptive direct-to-consumer brands (Chubbies, Marine Layer, & Tuckernuck), Jon-mark and his team of eComm vets decided to acquire La Matera in 2022. In the first year of owning La Matera, they successfully re-energized the brand, doubled down on new product innovation, and matured the supply chain. They were also able to re-accelerate growth in 2023 and anticipate growing the brand 30%+ next year. La Matera is investing in GoodDayOS to help them scalably drive profitable growth.
Leveraging experience from Chubbies, he’s excited to commit to building a genuine relationship with his customers and reliably delivering for his customers over the long-haul. Today, he has a global supplier base that is growing in complexity and manages his entire business out of his own warehouse outside of Austin, TX.
His growth strategy is multi-faceted:
GoodDay is his secret weapon for achieving that strategy. As Jon-Mark thinks about GoodDayOS, he’s excited to manage the business more precisely with accurate “Estimated Landed Costs” (ELCs) and “Estimated Time(s) of Arrival” (ETAs) flowing across purchase orders and throughout the platform. By managing these operational investments more closely, he hopes to use every dollar a bit more wisely and re-invest those dollars in La Matera’s future growth.
He’s also uniquely aware that unlike his prior employers, he doesn’t have 12–18+ months or the extra resources to invest in a traditional ERP implementation. He specifically calls out his prior experience, “The status quo is a juggernaut of complexity: Netsuite.” He is particularly excited that real Shopify brand operators are streamlining all of this and building an alternative to Netsuite with a fresh set of eyes. His world changes drastically inside of a 1–2 week time-frame and he can not plan for needs 18 months away, while also growing his brand day-to-day.
